January 2010 Food Diary and Workout Schedule
[continued from December 2009]
Jan 1- Friday Happy New Year, The gym is open but I feel like today is a day off. Walk the dog 1 hour
Breakfast: Popcorn.
“This is the weird part since of course 1 of my resolutions is to start the year off right with healthy eating and regular exercise…………but I woke up late 10AM then walked the dog for 1 hour, got home at 11:30 and had to leave the house for a 12:15 movie ” Up in the Air” highly recommend it. So I didn’t eat breakfast and I always have to have popcorn.”
Lunch: embarrassed to say but here goes, cookies, chocolates.
Snack: cookies and more chocolates
Dinner: salad and Sheppard’s pie, cake………. I hope that’s it for today. My new year starts tomorrow.
What resolutions did you make for 2010?
Jan 2- Saturday- Walk the dog 40 minutes, it is freezing out minus 14 C. plus the sidewalks are so heavily salted the dogs paws freeze
Breakfast: tea w/ honey, 2 pieces of spelt toast w/ almond butter
Lunch: chicken fingers
Snack: cake and cookies, cashews, hot chocolate
Dinner: The best Tai food, coconut lemongrass soup, cucumber salad, grilled chicken, a scoop of rice and coconut curry sauce.mmm, piece of cake for desert, 1/2 diet Pepsi
Jan 3 Sunday- walk the dog 1 hour
Breakfast: decaf coffee w/ almond milk, 2 pieces of spelt toast w/ almond butter
Lunch: falafel
Snack: tea and cookies, nuts, dried mango
Dinner: salmon, spinach and rice, more cookies
Note: it is so hard to eat lean and healthy when it is freezing outside + inside. How do you do it?
Jan 4 Monday - walk the dog 1 hour, go to TYC do the treadmill 1 hour, and some squats and lunges
Breakfast: oatmeal w/ protein powder, decaf coffee w/ almond milk
Lunch: orange, 10 almonds
Snack: bean salad w/ cucumbers, onion, tomatoes and feta
Dinner: BBQ chicken w/ spinach,red peppers, tomatoes, olive oil and feta, small piece of cake, 2 cookies and decaf tea
Jan 5 Tuesday- walk the dog 1 hour, go to TYC and do the treadmill for 1 hour, Then go to Marc Anthony to see Jennifer for a quick color. BTW they have a great blow dry club $20 blowdry.
Breakfast: oatmeal w/ granola, protein powder,and almond butter, decaf coffee w/ skim
Lunch: 10 almonds, 2 decaf coffee w/ 1% milk at Marc Anthony
Snack: bean salad w/ feta
Dinner: still full from the bean salad, so I had some tea and cookies for desert and a handful of sugar coated cashews
Jan 6 Wednesday- walk the dog 45 minutes, go to the TYC and do Grants 1 hour cardio class
Breakfast: 2 pieces of spelt toast w/ almond butter, decaf coffee w/ skim
Lunch: salad w/ BBQ chicken
Snack: nuts and cookies
Dinner: salad w/ feta, arugula, spinach, red pepper, tomatoes , cookies and cashews
Jan 7 Thursday- walk the dog 1 hour, temperature was bearable -4 c /24 f, go to the gym do treadmill 1 hour, and some weights for arms
Breakfast: steel cut oatmeal w/ granola, protein powder and skim milk, decaf coffee w/ skim
Lunch: salad w/ chicken breast
Snack: 2 pieces of spelt toast w/ almond butter
Dinner: go to the movies and see “A Single Man”, have a large popcorn and nuts. Movie was just OK, style was outstanding. Tom Ford rocks.
Jan 8 Friday- walk the dog 45 minutes, go to TYC and do Grants 1 hour low impact cardio dance class
Breakfast: oatmeal w/ protein powder, decaf coffee w/ almond milk
Lunch: salad/ w can of salmon
Snack: tea and cookies, nuts
Dinner: glass of red wine at Liz’s, salad w/ feta, cookies and black licorice, licorice tea
Jan 9 Saturday- walk the dog 1 hour
Breakfast: oatmeal w/ granola, decaf coffee w/ skim
Lunch: 2 hard boiled eggs w/ salad
Snack: rice crackers, Greek yogurt, 12 almonds
Dinner: fish, salad, risotto, 2.5 glasses of red wine
Jan 10 Sunday- walk the dog 1 hour
Breakfast: bagel, cream cheese, smoked salmon, onion, decaf coffee w/ skim, 1 Tim bit
Lunch: spinach salad, carrot soup and crackers
Snack: rice cake w/ almond butter, 10 almonds
Dinner: BBQ chicken w/ Franks hot sauce, decaf tea w/ 1 Tim bit
Jan 11 Monday- walk the dog 1 hour, go to TYC and do the treadmill for 1 hour at 1 incline and 4 speed
Breakfast: oatmeal w/ protein powder, granola, blueberries and almond milk
Lunch: chicken w/ Franks hot sauce
Snack: broccoli w/ garlic and olive oil
Dinner: brown rice pasta w/ spinach, garlic, olive oil and tomato sauce, 80% chocolate, almond milk w/ coco and Agave. [ trying to cut out my daily doses of cookies and cakes, the 80% chocolate is my way of weening off the major sugar I have been consuming the past few months, which has lead to a 5lb weight gain]
Jan 12 Tuesday- walk the dog 1 hour, go to TYC and do squats and lunges, and the treadmill for 30 minutes, after walked 30 minutes to Loblaws
Breakfast: steel cut oats w/ blueberries, granola, almond milk, decaf coffee w/ skim
Lunch: 2 hard boiled eggs, gluten free crackers
Snack: just had it 5 minutes before dinner, broccoli, w/ garlic
Dinner: brown rice pasta w/ olive oil and spinach, parm, decaf tea w/ Agave, almond milk, 1 tim bit and 3 pieces of 80% chocolate
p.s. I think I had too much garlic if you know what I mean
Jan 13 Wednesday- walk the dog 40 minutes, go to TYC and do Grant’s low impact cardio class
Breakfast: oatmeal w/ blueberries, granola, decaf coffee w/ almond milk
Lunch: broccoli w/ soup and beans and garlic, 10 cashews
Snack: almond milk w/ coco and Agave
Dinner: brown rice pasta w/ lots of veggies, 2 pieces of 85% coco, decaf chai tea w/ agave and almond milk

Jan 14 Thursday- walk the dog 1 hour, go to Creative dance studio at 491 Eglinton Ave. West to a trial 1 hour dance class- Pussy Cat Dolls Style- it was fun. walked there and back , 75 minutes
Breakfast: oatmeal w/ protein powder, almond milk, decaf coffee w/ almond milk
Lunch: 2 pieces of spelt toast w/ almond butter
Snack: 2 hard boiled eggs w/ hot sauce
Dinner: went to the neighbors for a yummy dinner, 2 glasses of red wine, crackers and brie cheese, 1 piece of roast beef, potatoes, brussel sprouts, carrots, salad w/ feta and pomegranate, slivered almonds, for desert lemon yogurt w. berries on top
Jan 15 Friday- walk the dog 60 minutes, go to TYC and do Grant’s low impact cardio class
Breakfast: 2 pieces of spelt toast w/ almond butter, decaf vanilla coffee w/ almond milk
Lunch: 4 slices of turkey breast w/ Dijon mustard, kale salad, 10 gluten free crackers
Snack: broccoli, carrots and garlic
Dinner: brown rice pasta/ w tomato sauce and veggies, glass of almond milk, 2 pieces of 80% dark chocolate
Jan 16 Saturday- walk the dog 1 hour
Breakfast: blueberries
Lunch: go to Cantine , had an omellete w/ goat cheese, spinach, mushrooms, 2 cups of decaf coffee w/ a drop of skim, 2 pieces of whole wheat toast w/ peanut butter
Snack: 5 almonds and 6 cashews
Dinner: mmm yummy dinner at nellies and nays, beef, salad, poppy seed cake, 2 glasses of red wine- good night!
Jan 17 Sunday- walk the dog 25 minutes- didn’t sleep well was up from 2-5 AM
Breakfast: went to Cantine at 10 AM for breakfast, had the same thing I had yesterday, omelette w/ spinach, goat cheese and mushrooms, decaf coffee w/ skim, rye toast w/ peanut butter
Lunch:
Snack: 10 crackers, 8 cashews, 2 almonds, non fat yogurt w/ decaf coffee/ coco and Agave
Dinner: this is weird but I had french toast, mmmmmm, 2 pieces of 80% chocolate, glass of almond milk, sip of red wine
Jan 18 Monday- walk the dog 40 minutes, take the angel to the vet for eye surgery, go to TYC do the treadmill for 40 minutes, weights for 15
Breakfast: 2 decaf coffee w/ almond milk, 2 pieces of spelt toast w/ almond butter, 2 hard boiled eggs
Lunch: salad w/ tomatoes, cucumber, red pepper, goat feta, olive oil and balsamic
Snack: 1 small avocado
Dinner: BBQ chicken w/ spinach salad, and bean salad. 1 glass of red wine, 1 75% piece of dark coco
Jan 19 Tuesday-walk the dog 1 hour, go to the TYC do the treadmill 1 hour, then some upper body weights 10 minutes
Breakfast: oatmeal w/ protein powder, Ezekiel granola on top, decaf coffee w/almond milk
Lunch: bean salad w/ goat feta
Snack: plain yogurt w/ coffee and coco and agave, 10 cashews
Dinner: broccoli w/ garlic, brown rice pasta w/ olive, garlic, tomatoes, parm. 2 pieces of 80% dark chocolate, glass of almond milk
Jan 20 Wednesday- walk the dog 1 hour, go to TYC and do Grants 1 hour low impact cardio class
Breakfast: 2 pieces of spelt toast w/ almond butter, decaf coffee w/ almond milk
Lunch: grilled cheese on spelt, glass of almond milk
Snack: 10 cashews
Dinner: spinach rice pasta w/ spinach, tomatoes, garlic, olive oil and parm. 2 pieces of 80% dark chocolate
Jan 21 Thursday- walk the dog 1 hour, drive to Buffalo for a couple of hours
Breakfast: 2 pieces of spelt toast w/ almond butter, decaf coffee w/ almond milk
Lunch: picked up a black bean burrito from Dish for the car ride, and a decaf coffee from Ezra’s pound
Snack: 10 almonds, bite of roast beef sandwich
Dinner: Quinio w/ granola [I know weird but the time I got home, I didn't know what to have], 2 pieces of 85 % dark chocolate
Jan 22 Friday- walk the dog 40 minutes, go to Toronto Yorville Club to do Grants low impact aerobic class
Breakfast: 2 pieces of spelt toast w/ almond butter, decaf coffee w/ almond milk
Lunch: 2 scoops of tuna from whole foods on top of Arugula salad
Snack: rice cake w/ almond butter
Dinner: broccoli, snow peas, carrots and garlic on top of a little brown rice pasta macaroni w/ parmesean cheese, 2 pieces of 85 % dark chocolate
Jan 23 Saturday- walk the dog 1 hour
Breakfast: oatmeal w/protein powder, granola, almond milk w/ a little brown sugar and coconut
Lunch: 2 pieces of spelt toast w/ almond butter , decaf coffee w/ almond milk and coco
Snack:
Dinner: “Bon Voyage” party, cheese, crackers, 3 coconut shrimp. 3 glasses of red wine, chips and guac, mini quiches, chicken, small piece of my favorite white Loblaws cake
Jan 24 Sunday- walk the dog 1 hour
Breakfast: oatmeal w/ granola, decaf coffee w/ almond milk
Lunch: salad w/ tomatoes
Snack: 2 pieces of spelt toast w/ almond butter, almond milk w/ coco and Agave
Dinner: bean salad, caesar salad, whole wheat pizza, 2 glasses of red wine, 2 pieces of cake
Jan 25 Monday- walk the dog 1 hour, fly to Vegas at 9pm
Breakfast: eggs w/ spinach, tomatoes and cheese, decaf coffee w/ skim
Lunch: toast w/ almond butter
Snack: almonds
Dinner: turkey sandwich made by KF for the airport- delicious
Jan 26 Tuesday- “Las Vegas” Robbys first walk tn the desert 1hour
Breakfast: coffee 1/2 and 1/2, 2 pieces of toast w/ almond butter
Lunch: salad w/ tuna, tomatoes and feta
Snack: crackers w/ hummus
Dinner: Sushi at the Red Rock casino ” Hatchi”[ something like that] , spider rolls, tuna rolls and something something rolls, 2 glasses of red wine- very delicious
Jan 27 Wednesday- raining in Vegas, Robby and I got soaked on our walk in the desert, treadmill 20 minutes, random weights 15 minutes
Breakfast: 2 pieces of toast , 1 w/ almond butter , 1 w/ cheese, decaf coffee w/ almond milk [ unsweetened]
Lunch: turkey slices and 1/2 avocado, 5 cashews and 5 almonds
Snack: decaf coffee w/ almond milk, muesli cereal w/ almond milk
Dinner: Whole Foods salad bar in Summerlin, chicken breast, lentil salad, spinach salad, 3/4 glass of red wine, 2 pieces of 85% dark chocolate
Jan 28 Thursday- walk the dog 1 hour
Breakfast: Bob glutten free hot cereal
Lunch: 2 hard boiled eggs, 2 pieces of toast w/ cheese, and 1 w/ hummus and tomatoes
Snack: 2 slices of turkey, glutten free crackers
Dinner: Went Chipolties in Summerlin, saw it on the Oprah show yesterday, they use organic chicken and beef, had a chicken bowl, w/ salsa, corn, beans- very good, 2 pieces of 85% dark chocolate
Jan 29 Friday- walk the dog 1.5 hours
Breakfast: Bob’s glutten free hot cereal, w/ granola, 2 strawberries and almond milk, decaf coffee w/ almond milk
Lunch: chick pea salad, w/ tomatoes, onion, cucumber,garlic, olive oil, 5 glutten free crackers
Snack: 1 hard boiled egg, 10 almonds
Dinner: 1 jumbo popcorn while watching the movie” Its Complicated”
Jan 30 Saturday- walk the dog 1 hour
Breakfast: oatmeal w/ granola, w/ almond milk, decaf coffee w/ skim
Lunch: black bean salad, tomato, onion
Snack: 10 almonds, 10 glutten free crackers
Dinner: Nora’s Wine Bar- had bread and olive oil, chicken, salad, olives 1.5 glasses of red wine
Jan 31 Sunday- walk the dog 1 hour
Breakfast: oatmeal w/ granola, decaf coffee
Lunch: bean salad
Snack: rice crackers, 2 pieces of 85% dark chocolate
Dinner: going to PF Changs, broccoli and chicken, spinach and garlic, spicy green beans, brown rice, shrimp, eggplant
