Every Time Australians Drive and Talk, Two Redheads Get It On
This very real ad by the Australian government features two people in bed, then says, “Don’t Be a Dickhead” by driving and talking on cell phones. I get it, I thought. The message is: you wouldn’t talk or text while getting it on, so why would you do it while driving? Wrong. The ad says every time someone drives and talks or doesn’t wear their seat belts (safety last!), two redheads (or “gingers”) get it on. Get it? It’s like It’s a Wonderful Life , but a terrible ad!

Arranged marriages have long been the norm in India. Parents were happy - they know everything and decide everything - and their children, for the most part, didn’t complain. But as more and more people meet online, it’s becoming increasingly hard for families to welcome strangers into their lives. And where there’s fear, there’s opportunity for security companies. One of India’s largest security firms, Topsgrup, is offering online premarital background checks . Since many families were already hiring private detectives to trail, usually, grooms for one day. If nothing suspicious were found, the investigation concluded and it cost about $5,000 rupees (about $112). Otherwise, the investigation would continue and prices would rise until it stopped or the wedding was called off.

With the growing number of kiddie foodies , or koodies , that have gotten press over the past year, it was only a matter of time before they got their own magazine. Meet ChopChop , a new quarterly food glossy and website that’s full of cooking pointers, recipes, and kitchen tool introductions, for kids aged 5 to 12. The vision of the magazine’s creator, cookbook author Sally Sampson, is to reverse and prevent childhood obesity; according to the website , the mag is “filled with nutritious, great-tasting, ethnically diverse, and inexpensive recipes.” The debut issue has a circulation of 150,000, and is being distributed to pediatricians, grocery stores, farmers markets, schools, children’s hospitals, and youth-based community organizations.
